William Fisher, Short Bio
Dr. William Fisher is Distinguished Professor Emeritus and Adjunct Professor at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. He is a health psychologist whose research focuses on the prediction and promotion of health behavior change, with focus on vaccine hesitancy and brief, effective interventions to encourage vaccine uptake. Dr. Fisher’s recent work includes the Pediatric Vaccination Optimization Trials, a four-part series of pediatric vaccination promotion interventions, published in Vaccines, and Preventing the Next Pandemic: An Information—Motivation—Behavioral Skills Model of Pandemic Risk and Prevention, published in Advances in Psychology. Dr. Fisher is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, he has published over 250 peer reviewed papers in his areas of interest, and his work has been supported by the US National Institutes of Health and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research across his career.
