The Well Project
Marissa Gonzalez was born and raised in Paterson New Jersey and moved to Southwest Florida in 2004 where she currently resides. She is the youngest and only girl of 4, is of Puerto Rican descent and is the proud mother of a 8 year old fur baby named Zoey, a Chihuahua/Corgi mix.
Marissa was the President for The Youth Services Coalition of SWFL for 3 terms, is an Ambassador for the Greater Than AIDS organization and Youth Across Borders as well as a Volunteer with The McGregor Clinic which provides primary care and case management services for those living with HIV in the SWFL area. She is certified in HIV testing and has received extensive training as an HIV educator.
Since graduating from Rasmussen College with her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, Marissa found herself immersed in the world of social services where she has worked since 2010.
In 2020, she was accepted into the Positive Women’s Network Annual Fellowship where her final project focused on HIV, Sex Work and Human Trafficking, and in 2021 she was invited to be a Community Advisory Board Member for The Well Project, an organization she has created blog content with since 2018 and now sits as Chair since January 2023.
Today, among being an advocate for conditions such as HIV and PCOS, promoting self love and body positivity, Marissa is a full time entrepreneur with 2 businesses in addition to being the cohost for BizTalk, a series focused on promoting entrepreneurs and their business. Marissa is so heavily involved in her community, she was recently nominated as Most Influential Person living in Lee County and ranked in the top 5.
