Dr. Katie Olney is a clinical pharmacist specializing in pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She received her Pharm.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in May of 2018 and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. She then completed a PGY-2 Pharmacy Practice Residency in Pediatrics followed by a "PGY-3" Pharmacy Practice Residency in Infectious Diseases at UK HealthCare in Lexington, Kentucky. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Olney is also an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and enjoys teaching didactic lectures and precepting students and residents on rotation. She maintains board certification in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy and is a member of several professional organizations including the American Colleges of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP), and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS). Her practice and research areas of interest include gram-negative resistance, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic optimization, and antimicrobial stewardship.
