Med-Peds Infectious Diseases Fellow
University of Alabama at Birmingham
Birmingham, AL, United States
Dr. Lindsey Hastings is currently in her second year of combined adult and pediatric infectious diseases fellowship training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Children's of Alabama. She was bitten by the "ID bug" early on as a high school student after shadowing a local pediatric ID doc and is excited and honored to be presenting at her very first IDWeek! A Louisville, Kentucky native, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Louisville and later medical school and Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency training at the University of Kentucky where she was also a graduate of their global health track. Her research focus has been heavily influenced by her experiences caring for mothers and infants affected by the opioid syndemic during residency, and she is currently exploring the role of MOUD and other harm reduction measures in preventing vertical transmission of infectious diseases in these dyads. Her other professional interests include general infectious diseases and medical education.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
