Dr. Louie attended the 7 year combined BS-MD program at CUNY and completed his MD at SUNY Stony Brook. He stayed on at Stony Brook for his internal medicine residency, then did his ID fellowship at University of Maryland. He was in private practice in central New Jersey for over 20 years, before joining the University of Rochester Medical Center faculty in 2019. He is currently the Clinical Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases. He has practiced wound care in four wound centers over a 12 year period. His other interests include antimicrobial stewardship and medical education. He has published over 50 articles in peer reviewed journals on diverse topics in general infectious diseases. He is on the editorial board of Infectious Diseases in Clinical Practice.
