Dr. Pedja Stojicic, MD, MPH, is a committed leader in the field of health equity, dedicating his life's work to advance the well-being of all communities through activism and community organizing. At the helm of People Power Health as an executive lead, Dr. Stojicic is leading transformative changes in healthcare by combining social movement-building principles and healthcare advocacy.
In addition to his executive role, he shapes future leaders as an adjunct lecturer at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. With courses such as "Narrative Leadership," "Enabling Teams," and "Enabling Large System Change," he prepares the next generation of public health professionals to not only understand the health system but also to actively participate in its transformation.
Dr. Stojicic's commendable journey spans from his roots as an activist in Serbia, where he served as president and executive director of Youth of JAZAS, an NGO committed to reproductive rights and the fight against HIV/AIDS, to a consultant for the World Bank and Serbian Ministry of Health, driving meaningful reform in healthcare financing.
His passion for change led him to a fellowship at the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School, where he studied Leadership and Organizing under the mentorship of renowned Professor Marshall Ganz. Drawing from his rich experience in health, academia, and community advocacy, Dr. Stojicic currently serves as a member of the advisory board of the Leading Change Network, one of the world's most extensive networks of social movement leaders.
His past affiliations, including the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Public Health Leadership, Primary Care Progress, Way to Wellville, Healthcare Anchor Network, and Center for Health Progress, have all contributed to his comprehensive understanding of health systems, allowing him to support and spearhead initiatives for systemic change.
