Pratik "Tik" Patel is an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Infectious Disease and Hematology/Oncology at Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He completed his fellowship trainings at Emory, residency training at UT Southwestern, and MD degree at the University of Virginia.
He serves as the founding Medical Director of the Transplant and Oncology ID team within the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease and founding Director of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center's Infection Defense program at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. His research interests focus on the epidemiology of infections and antimicrobial stewardship in the immunocompromised host and the introduction and implementation of novel molecular ID diagnostics to optimize stewardship and clinical care.
