Dr Irene Stafford started her educational career with a Master’s of Science in Microbiology. Afterwards, she completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University. Her interest in perinatal medicine led to completion of a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal medicine at the University of Texas, Southwestern. She is a core member of the Texas State Congenital Syphilis and HIV review board. She has been awarded several grants in the field of congenital syphilis. She enjoys spending time with the medical students, residents and fellows at the University of Texas Health Science Center, where she is an Associate Professor and the Associate Program Director for the Maternal-Fetal medicine fellowship.
