Kimberly Workowski MD is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University. Dr Workowski serves as a consultant to CDC to coordinate the development of the CDC Sexually Transmitted Infections Treatment Guidelines for 20 years, Dr Workowski is the Research Director at Emory University Midtown and her current research interests include the pathogenesis, and clinical management of sexually transmitted infections, translational research on the immunological aspects of hepatitis C persistence, HIV and hepatitis C antiviral clinical trials, antimicrobial resistance (T vaginalis, T pallidum, N gonorrhoeae), vaginal microbicides for HIV and STI prevention, and guidelines development. Dr. Workowski provides expert assistance and technical guidance on the STI scientific advisory council for the IDCRC network
