Sophia V. Kazakova, MD, MPH, PhD
Dr. Kazakova presently serves as a health scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. Dr. Kazakova attended medical school in the Urals Medical Academy, Russia, and received her doctoral degree in Health Policy at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She joined CDC after completion of the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) training in 2005 and has since been focused on conducting epidemiological studies of healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial use and resistance.
