Twisha Patel, PharmD, BCIDP is an Infectious Diseases Pharmacist for the International Infection Control Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Prior to joining the public health realm, she worked as an adult infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist at Michigan Medicine. She received her PharmD from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy and PGY2 Infectious Diseases residencies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Dr. Patel has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts in the areas of antimicrobial stewardship and infectious diseases. Additionally, she continues to be actively involved in national organizations including the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists and is a member of the IDWeek Program Committee.
Her practice interests include antimicrobial stewardship both in the US and internationally, gram-negative resistance, and management of infectious diseases in immunocompromised hosts. Lastly, she values professional leadership and mentorship and strives to give back to the profession of pharmacy in this way.
