Minnesota Department of Health Laboratory
Jennifer L. Dale, PhD is a Research Scientist at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) within the Infectious Disease Unit of the Public Health Laboratory. Jennifer obtained her PhD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she studied the molecular mechanisms controlling the Bacillus anthracis master virulence gene regulator. She performed her postdoctoral training at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities researching the effects of antibiotics on Enterococcus faecalis biofilm formation and architecture. Jennifer joined the MDH as an APHL-CDC antimicrobial resistance fellow studying the genetic determinants contributing to bacterial and fungal/yeast antimicrobial resistance. As a Research Scientist at MDH, Jennifer's primary goals are the development and implementation of methods that enable detection of antimicrobial resistance, elucidation of organism relatedness using molecular methods, and outbreak investigations.
