Dr. Sheela Shenoi is dedicated to improving clinical outcomes for people affected by or at risk of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis (TB) in resource-limited settings in the US and globally through rigorous implementation science. Her research extensively addresses the "intertwined epidemics" of HIV and TB, particularly in South Africa, Ukraine, and Malaysia, where she evaluates community-based strategies to enhance prevention, diagnosis, and treatment adherence. Dr. Shenoi’s work emphasizes the critical role of community health workers, integrated care models, and the optimization of TB preventive therapy (TPT) and PrEP to decrease incidence among vulnerable populations. She also explores the use of mHealth and telehealth to support patient care outcomes.
