Dr. Melissa Miller is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and the Director of the Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Microbiology Laboratories for UNC Medical Center. She received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and completed the Medical and Public Health Microbiology Fellowship at UNC Hospitals. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and an Editor for the Journal of Clinical Microbiology. Dr. Miller’s research interests include the development of accurate and cost-effective molecular tests for viral infections and the assessment of patient and healthcare outcomes associated with the implementation of new molecular technologies.
