I am Associate Professor of Medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. I have a background of conducting infectious diseases public health research in resource limited settings, especially in India. My research focuses on surveillance of antimicrobial resistance, antibiotic use, understanding the drivers of antimicrobial resistance and epidemiology of multi-drug resistant healthcare associated infections in resource-limited settings and in high-income settings. I currently serve as a member of the World Health Organization’s Expert Committee on the Selection and Use of Essential medicines and antibiotic sub-committee providing expertise on issues related to antibiotic use, antimicrobial stewardship, antibiotic resistance and clinical management of infections in LMICs. I authored/co-authored 65 peer-reviewed publications, 4 technical reports and 3 book chapters.
