Dr. David Warren is currently Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis. He recieved his Medicial Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He then completed his residency and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) in Saint Louis. Since 2004 he has served as the Hospital Epidemiologist for Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Medical Director for Infection Prevention for WUSM. Dr. Warren oversees infection prevention activies at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, its affiliated clinics and surgical centers, and the WUSM Faculty Practice Plan, which consists of over 130 clinics, providing 130,000 outpatient visits monthly. He authored over 130 peer-reviewed publications in the epidemiology and prevention ot healthcare-associated infections andgeneral infectious diseases. He has particular interest in device-related infections and MRSA. His research has been funded by NIH, the CDC Prevention Epicenter Program, AHRQ, and industry. He is an active member of SHEA and a former SHEA Board of Trustees member. He is also a member of IDSA and currently serves on the expert panel for the IDSA Guidelines for the Management of Intravascular Device Infections.
