Medical Lead – Influenza

As the US Medical Lead – Influenza at AstraZeneca, Allyn Bandell provides medical leadership and clinical education for the US Product and Global Medical Teams. She is responsible for scientific engagement with external experts, including medical policy organizations, as well as the publication and presentation of scientific data and seasonal findings. Additionally, she develops and leads scientific advisory boards. Recently, Allyn has served as the internal medical subject matter expert on a cross-functional team supporting the sBLA for FluMist self- and caregiver administration.
Allyn holds a Pharmacy degree from Northeastern University and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and has completed a general and specialty residency in Infectious Diseases at the University of Pennsylvania. Her interest in vaccines originated when she developed the first pharmacist-led Travel Medicine Clinic at Kaiser Permanente Rocky Mountain Region. Allyn enjoys spending time outdoors working on her yarn farm and hiking with her llamas.
