Medical Student
Instituto de Medicina Tropical & Salud Global, Universidad Iberoamericana, UNIBE, Dominican Republic
My name is Hector J. Lora, I'm a Fourth Year Medical Student from the Dominican Republic (D.R.), currently studying at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) School of Medicine. I am extremely interested in becoming an Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Critical Care physician.
I have been a research volunteer at the Instituto de Medicina Tropical y Salud Global (Institute of Tropical Medicine and Global Health) for almost four years in which I have worked in the line of Primary HIV Pharmacoresistance, HIV phylogenetics, HIV, PrEP, and PEP knowledge in medical students in the D.R., MPOX pandemic in the D.R., DENV molecular analysis, and Tuberculosis. Also, I am the coordinator of the Immunology, Infectious Disease, and Tropical Medicine Interest Group of UNIBE in which we stimulate the love for these multiples areas of medicine by creating different activities such as talks with multiple physicians related to these areas of knowledge, weekly clinical cases and weekly article sharing and discussions.
