Dr. Andrea Zimmer attended medical school at the University of Kansas. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at the University of Florida. She then went to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, completing a fellowship in General Infectious Disease followed by a Transplant Infectious Diseases fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. She is an Assistant Professor in Infectious Diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She serves as Medical Director of the Oncology Infectious Diseases service line, Associate Vice Chair of Faculty Development, and Phase 1 Co-Director for Microbiology/Infectious Diseases in the UNMC medical school.
