Dr. Keita Morikane is a Chief and Professor of Division of Clinical Laboratory and Infection Control, Yamagata University Hospital, Yamagata, Japan. He is a Board Certified Surgeon, a certified Infection Control Doctor and certified physician of Clinical Laboratory Medicine. He is serving as Executive board member at Japan Society for Surgical Infection, Japanese Society for Infection Prevention and Control and Japanese Society of Laboratory Medicine. He graduated from University of Tokyo, pursued his surgical career as a GI surgeon until 2003, when he moved to National Institute of Infectious Diseases. After five years of experience in public health and healthcare-associated infection, he moved to his current affiliation. His research interest includes surveillance and prevention of surgical site infection and catheter-associated bloodstream infection, environmental control to prevent transmission of multidrug-resistant organisms, and many more.
