Daniel M. Brailita MD is is an Assistant Professor of infectious diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and an infectious disease physician at Nebraska Medicine. He is an Asocate Medical Director for Nebraska Infection Control Assesment and Prevention program and member of HAI/AR Comittee
He was born in Bucharest, Romania, and completed medical school there. He trained in internal medicine and infectious diseases in Texas, finishing as chief resident at Texas Tech and chief fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. Dr. Brailita moved to Nebraska in 2007 where he helped to build the first infectious diseases practice encompassing Central Nebraska and the Tri-Cities area. He helped with State Health Department projects as well as served on the local Health Department Board. He joined UNMC's infectious diseases division in January 2021.
His clinical Interests include Tuberculosis,( where he serves as a DHHS Consultant for th State of Nebraska as well as he served in the Advisory Committee for TB Centers of Excellence and as volunteer faculty/ consultant for CDC COE); Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare including TB; Infectious Diseases in Community Practice, and Telehealth.
