The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
Giselle Alejandra Reynoso, B.A. is a Research Assistant at The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Her interest in Infectious Disease began during her Summer 2019 internship at an HIV clinic in Long Beach, California, where she learned about the intersectional barriers to care that people with HIV (PWH) experience. Before becoming a Research Assistant at The Lundquist Institute, Giselle managed and directed the Health Justice Internship (HJI), a community-centered pipeline program that provides pre-health, BIPOC students with mentorship & engagement in a health equity curriculum. Giselle also had the privilege of participating in the Latino Scholars in HIV/AIDs Research Education (SHARE) program at George Washington University, where she conducted research on HIV risk among previously incarcerated individuals on probation. As a health equity advocate, she is passionate about research that centers historically underserved and marginalized populations, and addresses health disparities, barriers to care, and structural interventions in the field of HIV and beyond.
