Sashi N. Nair, MBBS, MD- Instuctor and Fellow of Medicine, University of Minnesota Medical School
As a native of Western Massachusetts, Sashi's interest in medicine, infectious diseases and international health was kindled when he moved to India during high-school. He proceeded to stay there for medical school and graduated as the Valedictorian from Amrita University in Kerala, India. After returning to the United States, he worked in small animal and basic science research in Boston at Harvard Medical School. Then he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and General Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He is currently the inaugural Transplant Infectious Disease Fellow at the University of Minnesota . His interests in infectious disease include infections in the immunocompromised host, tropical medicine and medical education. Outside of work he enjoys hiking and cooking with his wife, and reading about history and linguistics.
