Khalil Chedid, Ph.D. is a Research Area Specialist Lead in the Michigan Center for Respiratory Virus Research and Response at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He obtained a BS in Biology from University of Michigan, an MD from Wayne State University, and an MPH in Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology and a PhD in Epidemiological Sciences from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where he also completed a post-doctoral research fellowship. Currently, he is investigating the incidence and transmission of respiratory viruses in child care. He is interested in identifying the primary modes of respiratory virus transmission in day care and preschool centers to better inform prevention strategies to mitigate respiratory infections in early childhood education. His previous research work included investigating the transmission acquisition of mult-drug resistant organisms in both health care settings and in the community.
