Pediatric Infectious Diseases Program, Hospital de Niños "Dr. Ricardo Gutiérrez", Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina
My name is Ana María Caratozzolo, I was born in Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, and I graduated from the Universidad Nacional del Sur in Bahía Blanca as a Biochemist. Then I moved to Buenos Aires to pursue the Magister in Medical Molecular Biology, focusing on Molecular Microbiology.
I'm currently working at the Infectious Diseases and Molecular Biology Laboratory at Dr. Ricardo Gutiérrez Children's Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The mentioned laboratory's areas of interest include serology (looking for antibodies by IFA against B. henselae to identify Cat Scratch Disease in pediatric populations), Molecular Microbiology (detecting S. aureus, S. pneumoniae, Tuberculosis, N. meningitidis, HIV, and Shigatoxins), and COVID 19 research.
This chance allows us to present the outcomes of our previous year's work detecting Bartonella henselae antibodies and assisting in the diagnosis of Cat Scratch Disease.
