Heera Natesan Sambath, MBBS, is a Research Scholar at Duke University, NC. Her research centers on talaromycosis, an invasive mycosis endemic to Southeast Asia, under the mentorship of Dr. Thuy Le. She focuses on antifungal therapies for Talaromyces marneffei, including the in vitro evaluation of novel agents as monotherapy and in combination. Additionally, she is engaged in the development of diagnostic tools and in vivo models to investigate the natural progression of infection and to facilitate preclinical therapeutic studies.
