Dr. Luis Marcos is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine (Division of Infectious Diseases) and Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY. He is also the Director of the Fellowship Program and Director of the Tick-Borne Diseases Clinic at Stony Brook University. His research interests are on Vector-Borne Diseases such as Tick-Borne Diseases, global health and medical education. During his 8 years at Stony Brook University, he has been able to develop a clinical program to recruit patients with tick-borne diseases in Long Island. This cohort of patients with any tick-borne diseases are being enrolled on initial infection and followed up until 1 year to study the pathogenesis, and prognosis of these diseases, especially Lyme disease and Babesiosis.
