Dr. Colleen Kraft is an infectious diseases-trained physician and a clinical microbiologist, beginning as faculty in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University in 2010. Starting September 1, 2021, she will be Full Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. In January 2020, she became the Associate Chief Medical Officer of Emory University Hospital, and sees infectious diseases consults on the inpatient service at Emory University Hospital. Dr. Kraft is a medical director/clinical consultant in the microbiology section of Emory Medical Laboratories, and she is the program director for the ACGME medical microbiology fellowship at Emory. She is currently the President-Elect of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM). Her research interests are in fecal microbiota transplant as a treatment for multi-drug resistant organisms, and healthcare human factors for infection prevention.
