Ronghui Liang is a Ph.D. student at the University of HONGKONG. His research focuses on molecular virology, particularly antiviral research on emergency virus diseases, such as SARS-CoV-2, MERS-CoV, and Influenza A. His group developed valid reverse genetic systems for the epidemic SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza A virus. His basic research is designed to decipher how viral and cellular factors modulate each other during viral infection, leading to productive viral replication (JBC) and effective immune response (Science and EMI). Understanding the virus life cycle at a molecular level helps our team to discover the potential broadspectrum therapeutics, like clofazimine (Nature).
