Flor M. Munoz is Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases, Molecular Virology and Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), and Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, TX. She is a physician-scientist with projects supported by NIH, CDC, BMGF and industry, focusing on vaccines, the epidemiology of respiratory infections in healthy and immunocompromised hosts, and the evaluation of safety and immunogenicity of vaccines in pregnant women, children, and immunocompromised hosts. She has contributed numerous publications on respiratory viruses, vaccines, and maternal immunization. She is a board member of the National Foundation of Infectious Diseases (NFID) and a member of the AAP Section of Infectious Diseases (SOID), the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) Immunization Expert Group, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS), and the Society of Pediatric Research. She serves as IRB chair at BCM.. She is an investigator and consultant in projects supported by the Coalition of Epidemic Preparendess Innovation (CEPI) where she leads the Special Populations workstream of the Brighton Collaboration and SPEAC, the Global Vaccine Data Network (GVDN), and projects of WHO and the Gates Foundation that focus on maternal and infant health.
