Taryn completed her Doctorate in Pharmacy at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. She then went on to complete PGY1 and PGY2 in Infectious Diseases residencies at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. She is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship in a T32 Training Program in Antimicrobial Resistance funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) through the Gulf Coast Consortia. Her areas of interest include 1) antimicrobial resistance and genetic mechanisms, 2) gastrointestinal resistome, and 3) translational research.
