Dr. Andrea Morrison is the Vector-Borne Disease Surveillance Coordinator at the Florida Department of Health, where she has served as the primary epidemiologist involved with mosquito-borne disease surveillance and response in Florida for the past nine years. In that role, she was heavily involved with responding to outbreaks of exotic mosquito-borne diseases, such as Zika, dengue, and malaria. Dr. Morrison graduated with her PhD in Public Health with a concentration in Global Communicable Diseases from the University of South Florida, where her research focused on the ecology of Eastern equine encephalitis virus in the southeastern United States.
