Dr. Ferric C. Fang is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine/Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Washington. Dr. Fang obtained his undergraduate and medical education at Harvard University and post-doctoral clinical and research training at the University of California, San Diego. He has over thirty-five years’ experience as a clinician, educator and researcher studying bacterial genetics and pathogenesis. He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed articles and currently serves as the Director of Clinical Microbiology at Harborview Medical Center and an Editor of Clinical Microbiology Reviews. He is a former Editor-in-Chief of Infection and Immunity, Deputy Editor of Clinical Infectious Diseases, a past Chair of the ASM General Meeting Program Committee, and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Association of American Physicians, the American Academy of Microbiology and the American Society of Clinical Investigation.
