Dr. Maskarinec is an Assistant Professor or Medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine. Her research interests include clinical and translational research related to bloodstream infections with a particular interest in host-derived biomarkers, organ-on-a-chip technologies, host-pathogen interactions, and device-associated infections. As a physician-scientist, she is committed to applying engineering approaches into tools to improve patient care.
