My name is Dr. Ahmed Ullah Mishuk. My research focus is in the field of epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, and health outcomes research focusing on understanding the utilization, safety, and effectiveness of different medications, medical interventions, and non-medical interventions, thus improving the patient's physical, mental, and societal health. I completed my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D). from the Department of Health Outcomes Research and Policy (HORP), Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy, in 2021 under the mentorship of Dr. Jingjing Qian. During my Ph.D training, I also received a minor in statistics from the department of mathematics and statistics at Auburn University. Prior to starting my doctoral education at Auburn University, I completed a bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and Master of Science (MS) in pharmaceutical technology from Bangladesh. Currently, I am working as a post-doctoral visiting fellow at the national institute of health (NIH) Clinical Center (CC) in the critical care medicine department, clinical epidemiology section. With extensive educational and research training in the field of epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacy, health outcomes research, and statistics, my research activities focus on understanding and improving patient health outcomes by studying the comparative effectiveness and safety of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions. I am experienced in utilizing epidemiology research methods, pharmacoepidemiology research methods, and real-world evidence to understand the comparative safety and effectiveness of healthcare interventions and risk factors of diseases and adverse health outcomes. My research aims to generate real-world evidence using healthcare administrative claims database, national health survey database, and electronic healthcare records to improve the quality of life and quality of health of the general population. My research is also focused on exploring and summarizing the existing evidence with the help of systematic review and meta-analysis techniques to inform the practitioners and policymakers comprehensively regarding the real-world healthcare situation. My overall research contributions can be classified into two broad areas: 1) Utilization, safety, and effectiveness of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions, understanding the associated risk factors and burden of diseases for different chronic and acute diseases, and 2) Elucidate evidence-based practices to guide providers and policymakers.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
