Magdalena is an epidemiologist with NCEZID’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion in Prevention and Response Branch. She is a member of the team that actively investigates healthcare associated infections and provides a support for state and local public health departments. Some of the utting-edge projects she is currently involved in investigate the potential of healthcare facility wastewater surveillance in disease prevention and containment and NDM-Producing CRAB outbreaks from U.S. patients. Magdalena earned her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in August 2013. Subsequently she worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Department of Pediatrics Emory School of Medicine. In 2015 Magdalena became an ORISE Fellow and joined NCHHSTP’s Division of Viral Hepatitis Molecular Epidemiology and Bioinformatics Laboratory Branch. In 2020 she earned her MPH degree in Usha Kundu, MD College of Health in University of West Florida.
