Quynh Nguyen is a fourth year medical student in UC San Diego’s MD-PhD program and an aspiring pediatric infectious disease physician. She completed a PhD in immunology in 2021 on tissue-resident memory CD4 T cells in the small intestine in viral infection. In 2022, Quynh resumed her medical school training and had the opportunity to work at the UCSD Owen Clinic with Dr. Darcy Wooten on HIV primary care. This experience sparked her interest in comorbid conditions in patients with HIV, including weight loss management, metabolic disorders, and medication interactions.
