Dr. Dana Blyth is an infectious diseases physician and program director for the ID Fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, an Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force. She recieved her bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine before completing her residency, serving as the Internal Medicine chief of medical residents, and completing her infectious disease fellowship at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, TX.
Dr Blyth currently serves as the Chair of the IDSA Medical Education Community of Practice IDWeek Workgroup, the President of the Greater Washington Infectious Disease Society, a member of the ID Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment Approval Committee for the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a standing panel member of the ACGME Accreditation Appeals in the specialty of IM-ID. Her scholarly interests include medical education and infections complicating trauma, burns, and deployment and travel.
