Nicole Poole, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology and Associate Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Dr. Poole obtained her medical degree at the University of Texas School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health at the University of Texas School of Public Health, in Houston, TX. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Chicago School of Medicine in Chicago, IL and her pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, WA. Dr. Poole’s research area of interest is antimicrobial stewardship in ambulatory and community settings. Dr. Poole uses epidemiologic, quality improvement, and qualitative research methods to describe antibiotic prescribing patterns, identify targets for improvement, and study interventions to improve the quality of antibiotic use in children. Dr. Poole leads the Outpatient Antibiotic Stewardship Program that serves as a resource for providers who care for children across the state of Colorado.
