Matthew Kronman, MD, MSCE, is Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine (UW) in Seattle, Washington, and Medical Director of Outpatient Antibiotic Stewardship at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He has served as Director of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at UW since 2013.
Dr. Kronman’s primary research area of interest is antimicrobial stewardship, using the tools of pharmacoepidemiology to understand current patterns of antimicrobial use, identify the unintended consequences of antimicrobial overuse, and ultimately find ways to improve the overall quality of antimicrobial prescribing for various conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has participated as co-investigator on 3 National Institute of Health R01 grants that aim to improve antimicrobial use in both ambulatory and inpatient settings.
Dr. Kronman currently serves on the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society’s (PIDS) Board of Directors and the Clinical Affairs Committee.
