Tonya Scardina earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy, completed her Postgraduate Year-1 training and Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy Fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Scardina has practiced as an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist for more than 10 years. For the past 6 years, she has served as the Pharmacy Antimicrobial Stewardship Coordinator at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She has participated in quality improvement courses and actively incorporates quality improvement into her antimicrobial stewardship practice.
