Dr. Kirthana “Kira” Beaulac received her doctorate in pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. She went on to complete pharmacy residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA and Infectious Diseases residency at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. She served as the co-director of the Antimicrobial Management Team at Tufts Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston prior to her current role as Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. She strives to advance pharmacy and infectious disease practice through SIDP’s Guidelines Committee, the Board of Pharmacy Specialties ID Specialty Council, Vizient’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, and the Massachusetts Society of HealthSystem Pharmacist’s DEI Taskforce. She focuses her practice and research on Antimicrobial Stewardship in non-traditional settings, such as community hospitals, long-term care facilities, and veterinary medicine. In her spare time, Kira volunteers for many community organizations to address climate change, provide early childhood education and programming, and combat food insecurity.
