Michael Cosimini is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Oregon Health and Science University where he is the rotation director for the general pediatrics clinic for medical students and pediatric residents. His scholarship focuses on the areas of serious games and podcasting for health professionals education with an overarching goal of finding effective tools to engage learners. To this end he is the designer of Empiric Game (twitter.com/empiricgame, empiricgame.com) which is card game designed to teach guideline based antimicrobial use in the clinic setting. He is a medical editor and content contributor to Hippo Education's PedsRAP. He is a member of the GAMER collaborative (Mededgamer.org) which is a research group dedicated to games based learning for health professionals education.
