Dr. Jaggi completed her medical degree at the Ohio State University, after which she trained in pediatric residency at Loyola University and then completed pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at Northwestern University. She was an attending physician at Nationwide Children’s hospital from 2006-2017
Dr. Jaggi is currently a Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University and Medical director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
She has been an active advocate to decrease greenhouse gas emissions in her local community, school district, and at the state level as a steering committee member with Georgia Clinicians for Climate Action. She sees parallels between the advances in antimicrobial stewardship and healthcare quality improvement that could be applied to decreasing emissions in healthcare settings. She started as one of the co-founders of a local group in her town of Decatur, Georgia called, “Decatur Cares about Climate!” to educate and encourage concrete actions that local citizens could accomplish together in the community. These efforts have resulted in a comprehensive clean energy plan for her city and local school system. She has also worked with her hospital system’s administration with a working group to champion environmental sustainability practices. She is an American Academy of Pediatrics Climate Advocate representing the state of Georgia. Dr. Jaggi has advocated to several state agencies, such as the Public Service Commission, state and federal lawmakers. She has completed training with the Climate Reality Project and the Climate Health Organizing Fellows Program through the Center for Health Equity, Education and Advocacy/Cambridge Health alliance. Currently she is partnering with local community groups to advance electric school buses for districts.
