Meredith L. McMorrow, MD, MPH (she/her/hers)

Dr. Meredith McMorrow is a Captain in the US Public Health Service and has served as a CDC medical officer for more than 19 years. Following completion of a residency program in pediatrics, Dr. McMorrow joined CDC in 2004 as an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officer. Following EIS, she joined the Malaria Branch and worked on a Phase 3 malaria vaccine trial and studied malaria diagnostics. In 2012, she moved to the Influenza Division where she coordinated influenza and vaccine research activities across multiple countries in Africa. She then moved to South Africa and studied influenza vaccines in pregnant women, the burden of influenza and RSV-associated disease in children, and developed and implemented a large, community cohort study of RSV, influenza, pertussis, and SARS-CoV-2 with partners at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases. In January 2021, she joined the Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Viruses Division where she manages several domestic respiratory surveillance platforms and supports the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices as a subject matter expert on RSV.
