Michael J Bozzella, DO, MS is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and a member of the Infectious Diseases section at Children’s Hospital Colorado. He works clinically as a pediatric infectious diseases physician, and as an associate medical director of the antimicrobial stewardship program, leading the later activities at the Colorado Springs Hospital. He is the project lead for the Colorado Antimicrobial Stewardship Endeavor (CASE), an educational outreach project in partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, which seeks to assist critical access and acute care hospitals across Colorado develop their antimicrobial stewardship programs. Beyond stewardship, he is passionate about medical education. He is an Associate Program Director for the Children’s Hospital Colorado infectious diseases fellowship, course director for a vaccination in pediatrics medical student elective, and a longitudinal integrated curriculum preceptor. He also tends to find himself giving talks to learners and colleagues as the opportunities arise. He earned his medical degree and master’s in medical education at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed residency at the Tufts Floating Hospital for Children, and fellowship at Children’s National Hospital.
