Dr Lalani is the Research Area Director for Deployment and Travel Related Infections, at the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program, and is an Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU). Dr. Lalani is a graduate of the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and completed her residency, infectious disease fellowship training and Masters in Health Sciences at Duke University. She is a board certified internist, infectious disease specialist and a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America. Her research focuses on clinical trials and translational research in the deployment and high-risk travel setting, including the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of travelers diarrhea and the seroepidemiology of vector-borne pathogens.
