Dr Hilary Babcock is Vice President, Chief Quality Officer for BJC HealthCare, and Professor of Medicine in the Infectious Diseases division at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis. She previously served as the Medical Director of the Infection Prevention and Epidemiology Consortium and Occupational Infection Prevention for BJC from 2010 to 2021.
She is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). She is a past-President of SHEA. She was a member of the CDC’s Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee(HICPAC) from 2013 – 2021, serving as co-chair of the committee for the last 3 years of her term. She is a CDC funded investigator studying healthcare associated infections and respiratory viral infections in healthcare settings.
