Dr. Bland is the Albert W. Jowdy Professor in Pharmacy Care at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy with a clinical practice within antimicrobial stewardship at St. Joseph's/Candler Health System in beautiful Savannah, GA. He has 20+ years of clinical experience, including over a decade as a civilian working at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center caring for patients and providing didactic teaching and precepting for family medicine, internal medicine, and surgical medical residents. He has authored over 80 peer reviewed manuscripts within various journals including Clinical Infectious Diseases and Open Forum Infectious Diseases and is currently serving a 3-year term on the IDWeek Programming Committee. He is co-founder of the Southeastern Research Group Endeavor (SERGE-45), a practice based based infectious diseases research network within the Southeastern United States since 2011. He is co-founder of TeachMePharm, an educational platform dedicated to providing up-to-date concise prescribing information on drug therapy. He is a Fellow of IDSA and has been named both preceptor and teacher of the year for the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy.
