Marina Nunez, M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, section on Infectious Diseases at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston Salem, North Carolina, where she has been a faculty member since 2006. Certified by the American Board in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, she is a very experienced and dedicated clinician. Her role as educator, researcher, and mentor are some highlights of her career, as reflected in several institutional awards that she has received over the years. Dr. Nunez is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed articles, several book chapters and other publications. An expert in viral hepatitis, she has writen numerous manuscripts, has participated in various panels and committees, and given multiple presentations at national and international conferences. She has developed other areas of interest within infectious diseases, particularly special immunocompromised populations. Dr. Nunez has served in various capacities at the IDSA, NIH, HIVMA and AASLD, being currently a member of the IDSA IDWeek Program Committee.
